P*rnography and mental health
P*rnography can have a negative impact on mental health in several ways. Excessive exposure to p*rnography can lead to addiction, desensitisation, and the development of unrealistic expectations and beliefs about sexual relationships. These can cause anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.
P*rnography can also contribute to the objectification and sexualisation of individuals, particularly women, which can lead to negative body image and feelings of inadequacy. Additionally, research suggests that p*rnography use may be linked to relationship problems and decreased satisfaction in sexual relationships. Overall, it is important to be mindful of the potential negative effects of pornography and to seek help if needed.
The Light Project
The Light Project website offers a range of tools and resources, including articles, podcasts, and videos, that cover the harms of pornography use and ways to reduce its negative effects.
They also provide access to mental health professionals and support services to help individuals cope with the negative consequences of p*rnography use with an overall aim to promote awareness about the harms of p*rnography and provide resources to help individuals reduce harm and improve their mental wellbeing.
